Doctor in Chemistry by the University Complutense de Madrid, I spent 2 years post-doc at UMIST (Manchester, UK) under the supervision of Prof. Anthony J. Ryan. Permanent Researcher at the Institute of Polymer Science and Technology (CSIC) since 1998 and Vice-director of the Institute since 2012. Head of the redaction of “Revista de Plasticos Modernos” from 2005 to 2012. Co-author of 90 scientific articles, 5 book chapters and 31 articles of scientific dissemination. I have worked on elastomers, gas separation membranes, cyanate ester resins, irradiation of polymers and polyurethanes. Currently, my main research line is polyurethanes focused on the synthesis of biodegradable non-toxic polyurethanes for biomedical applications and the synthesis of polyurethanes with self-healing properties.
